volunteer!

For anything: to walk shelter dogs, serve meals at New Alternatives For LGBTQ+ Homeless Youth or another shelter doing essential work, plant in the community garden, do phone calls with homebound and elderly people, help a friend move, audition to be a ball boy or girl at the US Open (I hear it’s unpaid!) or to keep time at your co-op board meeting.

You won’t necessarily get a compliment, but you’ll feel fulfilled and accomplished and grateful and part of the world and that’s even better than a compliment…
